Our Ministry

For the past 8 years we have been serving with SCP in various capacities. Esteban originally began working with SCP and their partnership in the Caribbean, and about a year and a half ago, began traveling to different parts of Asia. In the summer of 2013 we moved our family to Bangkok, Thailand in order for Esteban to be more centrally located to the countries he was working in. This summer (2016) we will be moving back to the U.S. (Nashville area) so that Esteban will be able to focus his ministry and travel on Latin America.

While in Bangkok, Esteban has been part of SCP’s preliminary teaching and investigations throughout India and Sri Lanka. He has spent  a lot of time traveling to different cities, meeting with national church leaders, and identifying who the key partners for SCP will be. He then is part of regular follow-up with those leaders as he walks them through the coaching process.

Last year, the SCP team saw an opportunity to begin working in Latin America. This is something that has always been on Esteban’s heart, so it was a natural fit for us to consider moving back to the States, so he could more easily travel throughout Central and South America. In June, we will be moving just outside of the Nashville area, where Esteban will be working with the SCP team to identify key leaders in various Latin American countries. He will also continue working with our partners in the Caribbean.

We are excited about this move and this new season of life. I will be teaching full time at a public high school, teaching barre at a local studio, and building my personal training business. Esteban will be taking 7-8 trips a year, raising support and doing a bit of work on the side. Our girls will both be in high school next year, and are excited to be going to school in America again. Thankfully, we have a good relationship with a local church body in the Smyrna/Murfreesboro area, so we will be able to plug in there as soon as we arrive! They have been extremely helpful in our move, and we are excited to begin serving with them!

There is a good bit to pray for in this transition for us, and we would love to have you join us!

1) Pray that this transition is a smooth one. You can pray for our girls to make some good friends, both believers and non-believers and for us to be able to leave Bangkok well.

2) We will need to buy two cars, and a house full of furniture and kitchen goods, in addition to paying the first couple of months of rent. This will require a large sum of money up front. We have set up a Gofundme campaign that is specifically for this purpose. If you would like to contribute, you can do so here.

3)Please pray for all of the details. I have to transfer over my teaching license, we have to find a house to rent in the school zone we want the girls to be in, and we have to take care of getting everything handled here in BKK prior to leaving. Please pray that these details will work themselves out, and that we will be able to get everything taken care of.

4)Esteban has one last trip to India (last week of April) before we leave BKK. Pray that he is able to close things out well, and that his time there is profitable!

We have been blessed to be a part of all that God is doing throughout the world. We continue to stand in awe of the way he draws people to himself, and the way that he uses ordinary people to do just that. Please know that NOTHING about our ministry is changing except for the location. We still feel very called to the work we are doing with SCP and are thrilled to be able to do the same thing throughout Central and South America.

Normal and Ongoing Requests are below!

Financial Support:

1-We are in the process of raising money for Esteban’s trips. Depending on where he is traveling and how long he needs to be there for, each trip can cost between $1200 and $1500USD. We need to raise this amount each month.

Ministry:

1-Please pray for the co-laborers in the gospel in the Caribbean and throughout Asia. Many of them have far fewer resources, and face severe consequences for their faith. Pray for them to have wisdom as the seek to bring the gospel to their geographic areas and beyond.

2-Pray for the church plant here in Bangkok. As we leave, there will be some new members coming out to join the team. Pray for a smooth transition for them, and the rest of the team.

Family:

2-Our girls have had lots of opportunity to adapt to new things, and our next move will be one more opportunity for them. We have seen great growth in them here, and would ask that you continue to pray that God would strengthen their faith.

If you would like to contribute to our ministry, click here. Please be sure to designate the donation to Esteban Cevallos. You can sign up to support us monthly, or give a one time gift. Either way, we appreciate your heart and willingness to support what God is doing through our ministry with SCP. If you want to give towards our moving expenses, you can do so here.
